The 2026 EDI West Showgirl Champion, Nova Baby, built her feature career the old-fashioned way: by saying yes to opportunity, putting in the work and never letting the show stop.

In feature entertainment, careers are often defined by a handful of pivotal moments. For Nova Baby, one of those moments arrived with a phone call from fellow Louisianan and feature entertainer, Phoenix Phires, a former EDI champion and ED’s 2025 Feature Entertainer of the Year. An opening had become available at a new feature workshop in San Diego. The opportunity was there if she wanted it.
At the time, Nova was a house dancer, balancing club work with college classes. Like many entertainers standing at a crossroads, she chose to say yes. The benefits of youth that affords the question, “What’s the worst that could happen?”
Years later, that decision feels less like a lucky break and more like an early glimpse into the philosophy that would carry her from local club stages to becoming the 2026 EDI West Showgirl Champion: embrace opportunities, work relentlessly and never stop evolving as a performer.
Another pivotal moment arrived when an ad for Michael’s Men’s Club in Broussard, LA, caught her attention on Facebook. Encouraged by a friend who recognized her potential, Nova took a job as a shot girl before eventually stepping onto the stage herself. As a young dancer, Nova absorbed every piece of advice, criticism and encouragement she could find. She practiced constantly, determined to improve both as a performer and a professional.
“I loved learning,” she says. “I wanted to see if I could implement everything and become the best version of myself.”
That hunger for growth remains evident today, though experience has taught her another valuable lesson: It’s cool to just relax.

That balance between ambition and self-awareness has helped shape a performer whose reputation extends well beyond the stage.
For Nova, professionalism begins with respect. She understands the ecosystem of every club she enters. House dancers are there to earn a living. Managers are balancing operations. DJs, security staff, servers and house moms all play essential roles in making a club successful. As a feature entertainer, Nova never forgets she is a guest.
“I’m in their house, under their roof,” she says.
That perspective has earned her admiration throughout the industry and helps explain why so many people cheered when her name was announced as the Showgirl Division winner at this year’s EDI West at Platinum 84 in Denver. Standing on stage with tears in her eyes, Nova thought about everyone who had helped her reach that moment, from club owners and fellow entertainers to friends and family scattered across the country. (Her mom was even in the crowd!) The victory represented more than a trophy. It validated years of hard work spent refining her craft.
Anyone meeting Nova for the first time might mistake her for reserved. She certainly doesn’t fit many of the stereotypes people associate with exotic dancers. That illusion disappears the moment the music starts.
Her performances are energetic, theatrical and packed with personality. Whether she’s channeling the playful charm of Betty Boop or commanding the stage with one of her elaborate themed productions, Nova’s goal is simple.
“I want the audience to feel immersed and captivated.”
That creative spark continues to drive her forward. New projects are already in development, including a highly anticipated collaboration with Phoenix Phires titled Star Phire.
Offstage, Nova is planning for the future with the same focus she brings to her performances. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, she hopes to advocate for mental health within the adult entertainment industry while expanding her role behind the scenes.
For dancers hoping to follow a similar path, her advice is straightforward: invest in yourself. Take classes. Ask questions. Seek mentorship. Hire quality photographers. Most importantly, enjoy the journey. Because when the trophies have been handed out and the confetti has been swept from the stage, Nova hopes her legacy won’t be defined by titles alone. Instead, she hopes people remember something much simpler.
“I hope they think of me and decide to be kind.”
