ED Publications announces nominees for the 2018 ED’s Awards Final Ballot!
21st Annual ED’s Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show to be held during 2018 Gentlemen’s Club EXPO at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas
June 20, Clearwater, FL: Once again, ED Publications will celebrate the best of the best in the multi-billion-dollar adult nightclub industry with its 21st Annual Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show — the ED’s Awards — during the industry’s annual, national gathering for the Gentlemen’s Club EXPO. The 2018 ED’s Awards Show, featuring top comedian Jessimae Peluso, will be held at The Joint Theater inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Tuesday, August 22, from 9-11 pm.
The Final Ballot for the 2018 ED Awards will open for voting at theEDawards.com on Monday, June 25th, and will be live until July 9th.
2018 CLUB AWARDS:
Among the voting categories, the most prestigious category is the “Overall Gentlemen’s Club of the Year” Award. This year, 10 clubs across the U.S. count themselves among the very best in the industry. They are (in alphabetical order): Blush in Pittsburgh; Bucks Wild in Dallas; E11EVEN in Miami; Gold Club in Charlotte, NC; Hustler Club in Las Vegas; Penthouse Club in New Orleans; Pony Club in Huntsville, AL; Sapphire in New York City; Spearmint Rhino in Dallas; and Tootsie’s Cabaret in N. Miami, FL.
As has been the case for the past several years, the adult nightclubs and club staff who appear on the Final ED’s Awards Ballot were determined in part by the “Pre-Nominations” Ballot, hosted on this ED Awards website. There are eight “regional” club awards, presented in two categories: Club of the Year and “Small” Club of the Year (which notes clubs that are under 5,000 square feet or are located in smaller cities/markets). There are four regions: East, South, Central and West. Other club award categories include “Feature” Club of the Year (for clubs that book feature entertainers regularly); “International” Club of the Year (for clubs outside of the U.S.); “Urban” Club of the Year (a national award for the top urban club) and the “Club Chain” of the Year Award for the nation’s top adult club chain (“chain” is designated as six or more clubs). 2018 ENTERTAINER AWARDS:
Among the voting categories, the most prestigious award for touring feature entertainers is the Overall Entertainer of the Year Award. Three entertainers are nominated for this award; two are chosen from the Annual EDI (Exotic Dancer Invitational) Contests, the third is chosen as a “wild card” nominee. The three Entertainer of the Year nominees for 2017 are Bellzora, Natasha Nova and Simone Danalustrous.
At the EDI West at Centerfolds Cabaret in Las Vegas, Angela Sommers won top honors in the Showgirl Division. However, as reigning ED’s Entertainer of the Year she is not eligible to be nominated for the award this year, which means the automatic Entertainer of the Year nomination from EDI West goes to that contest’s First Runner-Up, which was Simone Danalustrous. Natasha Nova became the second Entertainer of the Year nominee by winning the EDI East contest at The Manor in West Palm Beach. The third Entertainer of the Year nominee for 2018 is Bellzora, who was a finalist in the Showgirl Division at the EDI East and also received a great deal of support on the ED Award pre-nomination online voting ballot.
Other feature entertainer award categories include Newcomer Entertainer of the Year, Club Favorite Entertainer of the Year, Adult Movie Entertainer of the Year, International Showgirl of the Year and Miss ExoticDancer.com. The complete list of entertainer nominees can be viewed below.
2018 CLUB STAFF AWARDS:
There are three ED’s Awards dedicated to club staff: General Manager of the Year, DJ of the Year and Club Employee of the Year (which includes security staff, waitresses, bartenders, VIP hosts, house moms and floor managers). The complete list of club staff nominees can be viewed below.
Please note: As has been the case for the past several years, ten ED Awards will be presented during the EXPO’s Opening Night Party (Vanity at the Hard Rock, Monday, August 21). This is to ensure that the ED’s Awards Show on Tuesday evening is presented in under two hours (because nobody enjoys three-hour awards shows!).
