Where can you find Christmas in July with an old lady named Ingrid drumming to ‘Rock You Like Hurricane’? How about Charlie Chaplin, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson dancing with the Devil? Or, a few ringleaders getting lei’d, now that would be Maleficent, wouldn’t it?
All of this and more could only be found at Kandy’s Adult Playground in Waterford (Erie), PA!! For the second year in a row, Kandy’s was host to the 5th Annual Feature Dancer and Pole Dancer National Championships organized and ran by Sinsational Features Agency, Tom and Debbie Hischak. The event was held on July 26-28.
There were a total of 23 competitors divided among New Comer, Showgirl, and Master’s Feature Divisions. Of those 23 competitors, 17 ladies also competed for the title of Pole Champion. There were a total of 46 awards (12 main titles and 34 mini titles). Callie Jane took home the Pole title with her blindfold routine that amazed the judges. Michelle Lynn took the New Comer crown with her Old Lady Ingrid show that had everyone laughing. Callie Jane rocked the house with her custom drum set, drumming to the Scorpions ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’ earning her the Showgirl title, and Katie Sutra wowed the crowd with her original, vintage Charlie Chaplin show taking home Master’s Grand Champion and Best Show.
The packed three-day event still left some playtime at the 17-acre adult entertainment complex. Kandy’s owner, Joe Cunningham, has already booked this national championship competition for 2019, July 25-27.
