It’s time for YOU to let us know which adult nightclubs, club staff and feature entertainers should make our Final Ballot for the ED’s Awards!
Once again, ED Publications will celebrate the best of the best in the multi-billion-dollar adult nightclub industry with its 21st Annual Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show — the ED’s Awards — during the industry’s annual, national gathering for the Gentlemen’s Club EXPO. The 2018 ED’s Awards Show, presented by Capital Hero, will be held at The Joint Theater inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Tuesday, August 21st, from 9-11 pm. The show will be hosted by hot comedian Jessimae Peluso.
But before we can announce the winners, we have to decide on the nominees—and that’s where we want your help! Our Pre-Nominations voting website (theEDawards.com) will launch on Monday, May 21st, and end on Friday, June 1st.
As has been the case for the past several years, the adult nightclubs, club staff and entertainers who appear on the Final ED’s Awards Ballot will be determined in part by this “Pre-Nominations” Ballot. Industry professionals are encouraged to nominate those clubs, staff and entertainers who, they feel, are most deserving of award nomination, and tell us why they’re so deserving of this honor. There are three ED’s Awards categories:
1.) CLUB AWARDS: There are eight “regional” club awards, presented in two categories: Club of the Year and “Small” Club of the Year (which notes clubs that are under 5,000 square feet or are located in smaller cities/markets). There are four regions: East, South, Central and West (please note the map to see which states are contained in which regions). There are also four other club awards presented: Feature Club of the Year (for clubs that book feature entertainers regularly); International Club of the Year (for clubs outside of the U.S.); Urban Club of the Year (a national award for the nation’s top “urban” club); and the most prestigious club award, Overall Gentlemen’s Club of the Year, the ED’s Award presented to the top club in the nation. In addition, the Club Chain of the Year Award is presented to the nation’s top adult club chain (“chain” is designated as six or more clubs).
2) ENTERTAINER AWARDS: There are six ED’s Awards dedicated to touring feature entertainers: Newcomer Entertainer of the Year (a feature who has been “touring” for less than two years); Adult Movie Entertainer of the Year (a feature who is also a popular adult film star); Club Favorite Entertainer of the Year (a feature who is booked and re-booked often, hence, a “club favorite”), International Showgirl of the Year, acknowledging successful entertainers from outside of the U.S. (who may or may not tour in the U.S.), Miss ExoticDancer.com, showcasing the 12 top entertainers who were dancers of the month on that website; and the most prestigious feature entertainer award, the Overall Feature Entertainer of the Year. In 2018, there will be three Entertainer of the Year nominees, and each will perform during the ED’s Awards Show at The Joint Theater.
3.) STAFF AWARDS: There are three ED’s Awards dedicated to club staff: General Manager of the Year, DJ of the Year and Club Employee of the Year (which includes security staff, waitresses, bartenders, VIP hosts, house moms and floor managers).
PLEASE NOTE: This Pre-Nominations Ballot will be live from May 21st through June 1st. In other words, if it’s not May 21st you can’t vote yet!
FINAL BALLOT: The Final ED’s Awards Ballot will launch on June 15th, after the second Overall Entertainer of the Year nominee is determined following the EDI East contest at The Manor in West Palm Beach. The Final ED’s Award Ballot will be live from June 15th through June 29th.
