We’re Watching You

Man, those terrorists do not like France.

They kill people left and right in that country, screaming “Allahu Akbar” and then stabbing, shooting or running over men, women and children.

I know the French are pompous and conceited, but is that any reason to make their country your favorite terrorist hunting ground?

Yesterday a wack job named Cherif Cherkatt killed three people and injured a dozen more in a shooting near a Christmas market in the French city of Strasbourg, according to authorities. Notice how these terrorists never have names like John Smith or Robert Jones. And nothing like a holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ to get a Muslim extremist all riled up.

The gunman escaped. But that’s not the screwy part. This is:

Cherif Cherkatt had a criminal record in both France and Germany.

Cherif Cherkatt had been imprisoned numerous times.

Cherif Cherkatt was on France’s terrorist watch list.

So they have this guy who is not only a hardcore criminal, he is also suspected of being a hardcore terrorist. And the police know this. So they watch him.

Not very closely, apparently.

There have been dozens of terrorist attacks in France and Germany and England in recent years, including 89 people killed by terrorists at a rock concert in Paris in 2015. And every time—as authorities scrape the bodies off the street—they acknowledge that the terrorists who killed those people were on their terrorist watch lists.

Incredible.

Let me see if I have this straight. As a seasoned law enforcement officer I have very strong proof that you are likely in the near future to get a high powered assault rifle and start mowing down my country’s citizens.

I know this. So I’m going to keep an eye on you. And, boy oh boy, once you kill a bunch of people, then I’m coming after you.

Really?

If you know who the potential terrorists are and they are not citizens of your country, then deport their asses. Today.

And if they are citizens, then revoke their citizenship and deport them. Today.

Send them to Antartica.

Too harsh? I don’t know. Why don’t you ask the relatives of the three holiday shoppers who were executed by a known terrorist yesterday what they think.
