If you had the good fortune of attending the Gentlemen’s Club Expo in 2019, you undoubtedly saw the Walk of Fame, celebrating the convention’s sponsors.

On Sunday and Monday of the show, you may have even seen a woman working tirelessly, measuring with precision to layout the large carpets splayed with picturesque designs. As the president of Alpha Patterned Carpets, Marsha Jones is familiar with the gentlemen’s club industry and has worked in tandem with it for years. So you know Jones isn’t posturing when she raves about the gentlemen’s club industry and the relationships forged.

ED Magazine spoke with Jones—on behalf of StripJointsMusic.com and our monthly Spotify series—about what makes the president of Alpha Patterned Carpets cut loose, dirt racing and more. And don’t miss Marsha’s personalized Spotify playlist, courtesy of Bob Chiappardi and StripJointsMusic.com!

ED: You and Alpha Patterned Carpets have been huge Gentlemen’s Club Expo supporters for years. How would you describe Alpha’s, and your, relationship with the gentlemen’s club industry and the Expo?

JONES: Over the years, I have built relationships and friendships that will last a lifetime.  Listening to the club owners and designers is the most important part of creating a design for a club. The flooring plays a very essential part in the overall design of the space. It is the focal point of the decor. Furniture, fixtures and wall coverings/colors become the accent pieces to complete the design. Alpha has been a proud supporter of the gentlemen’s club industry for many years. This industry offers more than what meets the eye: It offers women opportunities to be financially stable, the industry fights against human trafficking, and it offers a safe space where everyone feels accepted. Those are just a few of the many reasons we support this amazing industry.

ED: In addition to being an exhibitor and sponsor, Alpha also creates the ‘red carpets’ that adorn the hallways at Expo. Talk about the technology that goes into creating such vivid photos and logos on these carpets.

JONES: Two years ago, Alpha made the investment to purchase a 76 dpi printer. This technology has the capability to print photo-real quality with a blending technology much like a desktop paper printer. This allows us the ability to print thousands of colors without the changing of color tanks. This printer gives us the ability to print any design and colorways by simply uploading the design to the printer. With printing multiple logos for the red carpets this has been great for the Expo.

ED: How long have you been with Alpha, and what was your impression of the Expo the first time you went?

JONES: The very first Expo I attended was back in 2012. I found the industry to be fascinating with such talent. I remember watching the mainstage shows and being mesmerized by the creativity and strength of each performer. I originally was with Omega Pattern Works and came on board with Alpha in 2015.

ED: Where are you from, originally? What are some of your most fun or vivid memories growing up?

JONES: Dalton, Georgia. Growing up I spent most weekends with my family at the race track. My grandfather began the trend, my father and all of my uncles followed in his footsteps. Saturday nights were for racing and Sundays were family dinner days where we all gathered to talk about the race. “Religion of Sports” did an episode on our family history in dirt track racing.

ED: What do you do for fun (hobbies, etc)? If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?

JONES: I love gathering with friends and listening to live bands. In my free time, I enjoy many activities such as fly fishing, bowling, playing softball and tennis. I would love to travel to Australia to see all of what Down Under has to offer.

ED: These profile stories are written in conjunction with StripJointsMusic.com (our newsletter and website supporter). Hypothetically speaking, if you were to visit a gentlemen’s club, what music or artists would you like to hear in that environment?

JONES: Justin Timberlake, Daniel Caesars, Lewis Capaldi, pop rock.

ED: If you had a chance to see any musician in concert (whether they’re alive today or not), which would you pick and why?

JONES: Chris Stapleton. I love his sound and the energy he puts into his music.

ED: What are some of your favorite bands? If you were getting ready for a night out, what songs or musicians would put you in the mood for a great time?

JONES: I enjoy many types of music. Most of my playlist consists of country music, Americana, Southern rock. Justin Timberlake.
