For the fifth straight year, the Monroe’s Feature Tournament boasted a hand-picked selection of top feature entertainers. Held annually during the Memorial Day weekend, this year’s three-day competition was capped off on Sunday, May 27th. And for the second year in a row, Simone Danalustrous came out on top.
The Monroe’s 5th Annual Feature Tournament, which presents the “Christina Aguchi Award” and $5,000 cash to its winner, included five amazing feature entertainers who competed for the crown and wowed the crowd. This year’s contestants—Aja Marie, Angela Sommers, Natasha Nova, Raven and Simone Danalustrous—all brought competition-level shows. The quintet performed in front of a packed house at Monroe’s of Palm Beach all three evenings. The event was hosted by multiple ED’s “DJ of the Year” nominee Jimmy Boucher, who had the crowd pumped up and completely entertained. The whole staff at Monroe’s was catering to their guests, making sure everybody was having a great experience.
Christina Aguchi, namesake of the tournament’s trophy, surprised everyone as she made a cameo appearance early in the weekend. Christina has retired from the industry as one of the most decorated features of all time. This inspired the contestants to put on some amazing shows, and they did not disappoint.
Aja Marie has come a long way since winning last year’s bikini contest at the EXPO’s pool party. She is someone to look out for in the future. Natasha Nova took on an inspector gadget theme that ended in an LED show that could headline in Vegas. Angela Sommers took an artistic form and made her show very hot and sexy. Simone Danalustrous got the largest pop from the audience as she was defending the title from last year’s contest.
It was reportedly a very tight race, but Simone edged out Angela Sommers in to win the crown two years in a row. Monroe’s Scott and Jennifer Lizza were on hand to present the award to Simone and take photos with all of the contestants. This is Scott’s favorite event of the year as they have made this a Monroe’s tradition.
Two weeks from now, June 10-12, the competition moves to Monroe’s sister club The Manor (formerly Double Dee’s Saloon) as the EDI East competition will be held. The EDI will held just two days after the official reopening of the club as The Manor.
Congratulations to Simone Danalustrous and Monroe’s of Palm Beach for putting on another amazing event that should inspire people to vote for Monroe’s to add another ED award to their already crowed award case at the main entrance of the club.
A special thank you to Alfonso Moreno of Mad Creativity for supplying the Pub with amazing pictures from the event.
