From a nervous first night in borrowed heels to an international feature entertainer, Blake Monroe turned hustle into her high-voltage brand.

Blake Monroe doesn’t just walk into a club. She arrives. Moods seem to rise. Attention tends to shift. She becomes the moment. Well-proportioned between her southern elegance and obvious mega-watt energy, Blake has carved her path from humble beginnings in lower Kentucky into a full-blown career as a feature entertainer with international ambition, a signature style and a personality that refuses to sit still. Her story isn’t particularly polished. Like many performers on the come-up, hers is real, road-worn and fueled by hustle. And like any great show, Blake’s starts with a moment of risk.

“I started dancing at 20,” she says. “I was working double shifts as a server and going to college full-time just to feed my family.” The pressure was real, the stakes were high—but dancing wasn’t even on her radar. “I had no rhythm,” she laughs. “I was terrified.”

That fear, however, didn’t last long.

On her first night as a house dancer at The Mouse’s Ear in Knoxville, Blake stood unsteady in borrowed stilettos. She was given the name “Monroe” by an OG entertainer in the club.

“I asked her why,” Blake recalls. “She said I had class and elegance about me, even though I was literally shaking in my heels.”

The stage name stuck and so did the money. After earning more in one night than she did working two waitressing jobs, she made a decision that would change everything: “I decided to change my circumstances and shake it fast.”

“The ED EXPO has been a lifesaver. It’s where everyone comes together—entertainers, club owners, brands. It’s like a party, but with purpose.” – Blake Monroe

From rookie to road warrior

A few years into house dancing, Blake entered the annual Exotic Dancer Invitationals, her very first competition. Her challenge? Build a full performance: theme, costume, music, the works. While others chose characters or concepts, she went all in on her own feature-style performance, as green as it was.

“My first show, I came out of a homemade cardboard box,” she recollects. “Folded like a pretzel!”
Admittedly, the crowd (Editor’s Note: this writer included) didn’t know what to expect until she burst through the sides Kool-Aid Man style and took over the stage without a single visible exhale.

“I danced from the rafters. I went hard.”

The mood once again shifted. From that moment on, there was no looking back. Blake hit the road, chasing stages across Michigan, Florida, Las Vegas and Texas. New bookings, more competitions, honing her craft. She connected with industry insiders, stepped into the competitive world of feature entertainment and began building what she now calls her lifestyle: “Champagne, airports and pole grip,” she grins. “That’s been my life ever since.”

But no one builds a career alone and Blake is the first to say it.

“The ED EXPO has been a lifesaver,” she explains, crediting the annual event for helping to grow her career. “It’s where everyone comes together—entertainers, club owners, brands. It’s like a party, but with purpose.”

Those connections led to mentorship and honest feedback from some of the industry’s top names back then like Natasha Nova and Christina Aguchi. “They told me to show the real Blake Monroe,” she explains. “Use my best shows, my pole tricks, my photos, just to own it.”

And she has.

Blake’s feature brand is bold, polished and, with purpose, constantly evolving. She’s taken her creativity beyond the stage too, landing international editorials including a standout February 2021 Playboy spread in Sweden—and is now setting her sights even higher.

“I love Playboy,” she says. “I poured my heart into a calendar spread that was all about creativity.”
But Monroe isn’t stopping at print. She’s stepping into new arenas. “I’m working with the LFC, the Lingerie Fighting Championship,” she reveals. “We’re heading to Italy soon!”

It’s a move that blends performance, athleticism, and personality, three things Blake has in abundance. “International has always been a dream,” she says. “And now it’s happening.”

The experience, not just the stage

For Blake, being a feature entertainer isn’t just about the stage that draws attention, it’s about the connections she strives to cultivate with the public and fellow industry professionals.

“Of course, I love performing,” she says. “But hearing people’s stories, seeing how excited they are when I’m out on stage—that means everything.” Whether it’s fans, staff or fellow dancers, Blake makes it a point to engage. “When I land, I explore the city with the club staff. I get to know people. That’s important to me.”

She’s especially passionate about connecting with other entertainers. “At one point, I was just like them,” she points out. “We inspire each other.” Backstage, that connection often turns playful. “I’ll have the girls dress up with me, do makeup, hit the pole together. It’s like a Barbie party in the dressing room.”

That professional balance defines Blake’s evolution as a performer.

“From cardboard boxes to custom costumes, everything has leveled up,” she says. Her shows now feature tight choreography, curated music and clear storytelling. But the biggest transformation has been internal. “I cut back on drinking. I eat better. I train on a schedule. This is a lifestyle.”

Discipline, she says, is the real game-changer. “Confidence shows on stage, but it starts within.”

Her performances reflect her journey. One early show cast her as a college professor, a nod to her student days. Another channels a warrior queen inspired by childhood memories. “I used to watch ‘Xena’ with my grandmother every weekend,” Blake says. “I knew I wanted to be her—that powerful, take-no-prisoners energy.”

That warrior spirit carries into her favorite acts today. “I love my White Tiger and Black Panther shows,” she says. “There’s something about that strength, that presence.”

Blake also embraces her playful side. “I love Barbie shows. “They’re bougie; it’s me, just turned all the way up.”
Offstage, Blake is facing a different kind of battle, one that’s both personal and professional.
“Right now, I’m dealing with a legal issue over my name,” she explains. After more than a decade of building her brand, she’s found herself in a dispute that could impact her identity in the industry. “It’s crazy,” she admits. “But I’m standing my ground.”

And if the courtroom doesn’t settle it? Blake has a backup plan, she adds with a wink. “I might just take it to the ring,” she laughs, referencing her LFC involvement. “Body slam from the top ropes.”

Globetrotting ambitions

Despite the challenge, she remains focused on what’s ahead. Her goals are global.
“I want to go to London, visit Spearmint Rhino, experience the nightlife over there,” she shares. “Then Greece, Mykonos.” Travel, for Blake is more than a perk. The adventure is part of her growth. “I love learning new styles, seeing new places. Featuring has opened my eyes to the rest of the world. I want to see it all.”
And she wants others to do the same. “Get out there. See the world. Dance while you do it.”

But for right now, the clubs are calling.

“Booking Blake Monroe means booking the full experience,” she says without hesitation. “I bring class, pizzazz and a whole lot of attitude.”

Her performances are crafted to captivate every audience, from high-energy crowd interactions to sultry, intimate moments that draw admirers like moths to a flame. “Fire shows, water shows, pole tricks, whatever. I do it all.”

But it’s not just about the stage. Blake prides herself on professionalism.

“I show up early. I stay late. I help the staff. I tip well,” she says. “I’m not hiding in the dressing room. I’m part of the party.”

That mindset has been sharpened through competition, particularly with the EDIs, which she returned to this year at The Pony in Huntsville. “Those contests are tough,” she admits. “But they’ve brought me more friends than rivals.” The experience pushed her to elevate every aspect of her career. “It taught me professionalism—on stage and off.”
More importantly, it gave her confidence. “I walk differently now,” she says. “I dance differently, head high, knowing what I bring to the table every time I take the stage. Moving forward is the goal, ascending in all facets of my career. As a feature, I want to see more of myself across the country,” she adds with a smile. “It’s time to shake things up.”
