How SmartTab disrupted an industry, improved their product and hired the savviest businesswoman in the game.

Somewhere above the sterile floors of corporate offices and far beyond the velvet-draped VIP rooms of adult nightclubs, one gendered-slanted reality persists: women may capture attention quickly, but earning lasting respect is a slower, harder grind. For all the progress of women’s liberation, there remains the unrelenting truth of the female hustle — it’s just tougher. The pronouns here might as well be: This/Sucks. It’s not a matter of performance, it’s that the game is outnumbered, especially in our industry and especially offstage. Building a solid reputation in the clubs, like gold in its purest form, is rare, heavy, and painfully slow to mine.

Caressa knows this better than most. A former entrepreneur in the medical meld turned adult nightlife tech disruptor, she joined the adult nightclub sector in 2018 with a startup spirit and a framework for change. Her mission: bring Silicon-Valley-grade technology and professionalism into an industry known more for cash and charisma than code and analytics.

In her new role, she serves as Chief Experience Officer (CXO) for SmartTab, the fastest-growing point-of-sale system tailored for the adult nightclub sector. With roots in hospitality, not high-tech, SmartTab has rapidly become the industry’s most progressive solution, thanks in no small part to their relentless customer service and team, products, and Caressa’s ability to bridge the old-school with the next-gen.

From curiosity to command

“I first saw SmartTab at Peppermint Hippo in Vegas during the 2023 Gentlemen’s Club Expo,” Caressa recalls, somewhere between a client call and boarding a flight to Austin for another tech install. “The bartender was bragging about their point-of-sale system. I thought, ‘She’s got to be drinking on shift.’ No one brags about a POS system. But she was showing it off like it was her new Ferrari.”

That spark of curiosity led Caressa to founder and CEO Daniel Baron, a former nightlife professional who’d designed SmartTab after turning down a career in law. Baron had a vision: to reinvent POS software for the realities of nightlife. Think expedited digital dance-dollars, chargeback prevention, discreet customer problems, and seamless mobile payments, a one-stop platform, all protected by end-to-end encryption and matched with exceptional service.

“I was eager to fly to San Francisco to Daniel, his drive for innovation was infectious,” says Caressa. “Daniel’s passion, his team culture, and the sheer potential of SmartTab hooked me instantly. I knew I had to be involved.”

Fast-forward to June of this year, and Caressa stepped into the newly created executive role of CXO, overseeing user experience across SmartTab’s entire adult venue vertical. The company now services more than 100 clubs nationwide, up from just one location six years ago.

The new face of a reinvented industry

Caressa’s elevation marks more than a corporate hire, it signals a culture shift at the behest of SmartTab. For years, adult nightlife has lagged behind in digital transformation, clinging to cash-heavy operations and outdated infrastructure. But today’s clubgoers are different. They pay with mobile wallets, expect sleek, personally crafted experiences and rarely carry cash. Operators who fail to modernize risk becoming obsolete.

“Our clients range from large chains to mom-and-pop clubs,” Caressa says. “They’re all facing the same challenge: staying relevant to a younger, cashless generation.”

SmartTab’s solution? A single platform that handles everything from bottle service and commission splits to group packages, stage rotation, integrations and analytics. The result: leaner operations, better margins, and data-driven decisions. With SmartTab your club is working smarter, not harder, all backed by people that show up and answer their phones.

“Think about it: If your club sells more Reposado tequila than any other in your region, SmartTab’s analytics will show that,” she adds. “You now have leverage with your distributor. You negotiate better pricing. That’s power.”

More than tech—it’s a mission

But SmartTab isn’t just selling software, it’s offering strategy. With integrations like ‘Seven Shifts’ for employee scheduling, it becomes the command center for a modern club. Caressa describes her role as the “translator” between frontline staff, developers, and operators.

“I work with owners, boots-on-the-ground operators, and entertainers, understanding their pain points,” she explains. “Then that gets relayed back to our product team so we can build the exact tools they need. I’m in the trenches. I’ve done the installs. I’ve worked the late nights. I am grateful to have earned respect that isn’t given easily, I don’t take that for granted.”

It’s that boots-on-the-ground mentality, combined with a startup-founder mindset, that makes Caressa a force in a space still largely ruled by men. She doesn’t ask for respect, she literally builds systems that earn it.

SmartTab 2.0: Innovation on stage

SmartTab is preparing to unveil its 2.0 platform at this year’s EXOTIC DANCER Expo—a major leap forward for the brand and the clubs it powers. The update includes advanced dancer tracking and stage rotation tools, built in direct response to years of industry feedback.

“From the smallest venue to the biggest chain, every club has its own rhythm,” Caressa explains. “Daniel often says, ‘We don’t tell people how to run their businesses, we just build so they can run it the way they want to.’” The company’s approach is both scalable and personal, something all too rare, especially in adult nightlife. “SmartTab always had the vision,” she says. “What I bring is a fresh voice. The empathy. The context.”

Club operators have no shortage of POS providers to choose from. But SmartTab is evolving into something far more integral: the digital fulcrum of a multi-billion-dollar industry in transition. Under Baron’s vision—and with Caressa at the helm of its most dynamic vertical—SmartTab is positioning itself not just as a tech vendor, but as a strategic partner. More than that, it’s becoming a platform for the next generation of club owners, entertainers, and operators to build something better. And for Caressa, the payoff isn’t just measured in installs or revenue growth. It’s measured in trust.

“We don’t just want to be the best,” she says. “We jokingly say that we’re the POS that doesn’t suck, but in actuality, that oversimplifies what our core values really are, especially as we look towards the future. We build what is missing or broken in other systems. We want to be respected for making this industry better, for everyone.”
