What does it mean to be named MissExoticDancer.com of the Month?
Nova Baby: Being named MissExoticDancer.com means the world to me. It represents growth in an industry that has been spinning and sparkling long before I arrived. Not loud or flashy—quiet growth. The kind that happens between sets, in scuffed heels, with sore muscles, and nerves that never quite go away. Growth isn’t always confident; it’s becoming. Thank you so much to Exotic Dancer Publications for the opportunity to continue to grow.
How did you get into the industry?
Nova: Would you believe me if I said a Facebook ad? My friend sent it to me jokingly and said, “Now’s your chance!” I had always been interested, but that was the push I needed to finally do it. I applied that same week. I started out as a shot girl at Michael’s Men’s Club and auditioned as a dancer on my birthday a year later! Needless to say, I started dancing—and I haven’t looked back since.
What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
Nova: The community. I’ve met some of the kindest and most supportive individuals throughout my time dancing, including friendships that have inspired me to be the best version of myself—on and off stage.
What’s the funniest thing that has happened while you were on stage?
Nova: There are a handful of moments that come to mind, but my top two are: being tipped a scratch-off ticket by a dancer named Lucky, and getting absolutely nailed in the face with a stack of 100 ones. I think that might be the only time getting hit with a brick will ever make me smile.
What’s the most common misconception about strippers or strip clubs?
Nova: Most people don’t realize strippers actually pay to work in the club. I often have open discussions with customers who are surprised to learn that dancers pay house fees and sometimes have to tip out—even on slow nights. I usually compare it to hairstylists renting their station in order to work.
What’s your favorite body part of yourself?
Nova: I love my hair! I’ve been told it’s worthy of a shampoo commercial. It’s probably the feature I get complimented on most, both at work and out in public. Although, in the club, I get mistaken for a redhead almost every night.
What gets your motor purring?
Nova: I love romance books! When I’m not burned out from reading textbooks, you can find me lost in countless romance novels and more. It’s totallyyy for the plot—nothing else.
What do you like to do outside of dancing?
Nova: I don’t have a ton of free time between work and college, but when I do, I love spending it with my friends, my dog, and a good book.
What is your craziest fantasy?
Nova: Honestly, I haven’t had a fantasy that I couldn’t make a reality yet.
Best and worst pick-up line?
Nova: I haven’t heard a pick-up line—good or bad—that was memorable enough to share.
