Godfather’s General Manager Charlee Daniels credits her club’s success to building a bar team that keeps service fast, operations tight and guests coming back.

Charlee Daniels doesn’t talk about running a bar the way most people do. There’s no corporate jargon, no buzzwords borrowed from hospitality seminars. Instead, the General Manager of Godfather’s Gentlemen’s Club in Wheeling, West Virginia, talks about awareness, chaos and reading a room like it’s a living thing. Which makes sense, considering she’s worked every corner of it.
Charlee came up the hard way, proudly so. Over the past eight years at Godfather’s, she’s done it all: DJ booth, door duty, floor work, bar shifts and eventually management. “I started from the ground up,” she says, matter-of-factly. That hands-on climb shaped her management style and led to her being named ED’s 2024 Employee of the Year. She doesn’t rely on theory or what looks good on paper. She relies on what survives a packed Saturday night when the music’s loud, the bar’s three-deep and everyone wants something right now.
“Inventory only works if people know you’re paying attention.”

Managing a bar inside an adult nightclub, Charlee explains, is its own beast. Speed, safety, money and personalities collide all at once. “There’s zero room for hesitation,” she says. Boundaries matter. Decisions have to be quick. And the energy has to stay high without tipping into chaos. It’s a balancing act; one she’s mastered by being hyper-aware of her surroundings at all times.
When it comes to hiring bartenders, Charlee keeps it simple. Reliability, hospitality and common sense top her list. Fancy resumes don’t impress her nearly as much as work ethic. “I can teach recipes all day,” she expresses. “I can’t teach awareness or how not to need to be babysat.”
The ones who thrive are those who can stay organized in the middle of madness and still treat guests like they matter. It’s that mindset that separates a good bartender from a great one. Great bartenders think two steps ahead. They remember names. They anticipate needs. They follow procedures, ask smart questions and don’t melt down when the bar gets slammed. Bonus points if they’re still smiling by last call. “They make customers feel special,” Charlee says, “and that’s everything.”
At Godfather’s, much like at your club, bartenders do more than pour drinks — they set the tone for the entire club. First impressions, pacing, mood, momentum, it all starts at the bar. When bartenders are locked in, Charlee says, everything else runs smoother. Dancers make more money. Guests stay longer. Problems shrink before they explode.
Customer expectations have evolved, though. Guests still want to feel special, Charlee explains, but they also expect consistency and professionalism. Fast service, clean spaces, and transparency matter more than ever. “Chaos isn’t always charming,” she notes.
Operationally, Charlee leans on systems that actually fit adult nightlife. Godfather’s uses BoothPoint for POS and reporting, which she credits for cutting down checkout “mysteries” and tightening accountability. Inventory control, she adds, isn’t about fancy tools; it’s about clear procedures and enforcing them nightly. “Inventory only works if people know you’re paying attention.”
As for trends, Charlee sees guests gravitating toward premium spirits, specialty cocktails and visually striking drinks. Even in high-energy nightlife settings, people care about what they’re drinking. Simpler menus with strong branding consistently outperform bloated ones.
Her advice to club owners trying to boost bar revenue? Train your staff. Trust your systems. Protect your atmosphere. “A smooth bar will always outperform a sloppy, busy one.”
Reflecting on her day-to-day, Charlee mentions winning Club Employee of the Year and Godfather’s being named ED’s 2025 Small Club of the Year – East Coast. But what really does it for her is simpler: a packed room, a dialed-in team and a night that runs smoothly from open to close. Bartenders, dancers, security; everyone in sync. Guests happy. Staff succeeding. “That,” she says, “is why I love this industry.”
