ID scanner

When it comes to ensuring adult nightclubs are compliant with age verification laws, TokenWorks has your back.

Running a successful adult nightclub is no small feat. Between managing employees, handling challenging customers, dealing with regulations and mitigating liability risks, club operators have a lot to juggle. One element that shouldn’t add stress, though, is age verification. That’s why TokenWorks, a company with 25 years of experience working with bars and adult nightclubs, has developed solutions to make ID scanners more efficient and reliable. At the heart of their mission is a simple idea: running a nightclub is tough, but age verification shouldn’t be.

tokenworksED Publications spoke to TokenWorks Director of Operations Daniel Greene, who provided insight into which ID scanners offer the best features for adult nightclubs.

“We are a small business too,” Greene shares. “We know it’s tough and we want to help them.”

Currently, TokenWorks sells stationary and mobile ID scanners, with a hybrid option coming out this month. Each scanner provides features that help reduce liability for adult club owners, the most important being accurate age verification. Offering further protection for clubs in states with stricter laws, the IDentiFake scanner uses the same technology used by TSA, including forensic checks of holograms, micro-printing, ultraviolet and infrared images. For many business owners, this feature comes in handy when fighting credit card disputes.

“The IDentiFake scanner captures an image of each guest’s ID, and what a lot of club owners are doing is using this feature as chargeback protection,” Greene explains. ”Too often, a guy goes into a club, falls in love, runs out of cash, and starts using a credit card. Then, the next day, when he realizes how much he spent, he’ll file a dispute. Our machines make it so that you’re in a better spot to deal with that.”

While system reports provide everything needed to fight a chargeback, TokenWorks ensures that all collected information is securely stored and protected. For those looking for enhanced chargeback protection, Greene reveals TokenWork’s new hybrid scanner, the AgeVisor 3, will offer even more safeguard features to be rolled out later this year.

Another security feature available is a banned list, allowing staff to flag a problem customer so everyone knows they aren’t allowed back inside. In contrast, a VIP tagging feature enables your team to acknowledge when a regular or high-profile customer walks through the door. Staff can also use VIP tagging to track guests in the club’s membership or loyalty program, and all of this information can be synced with the club’s network, making it accessible at all locations.

The customization options don’t end there, though. There are plenty of add-on features to fit the unique needs of each club.

“Clubs can configure the scanners to display custom entry messages, integrate with existing security systems or add features like time-stamped visitor logs,” Greene explains. “Some models also offer API integration, allowing seamless data transfer between club management software, POS systems or loyalty programs.”

TokenWorks isn’t just about selling products; it’s about offering solutions tailored to the specific needs of each club. Their customer support team understands the complexities of the adult industry and can provide guidance to help your club stay compliant with state laws.

Furthermore, they make their products easy to use with “plug-and-play” designs and accessible training videos. TokenWorks ID scanners can be purchased from the company’s website or by calling 914-704-3100.
