Performers competing in the 2026 EDI Starlet Division answer two questions: “How would you describe your identity as a feature entertainer?” and “What are you looking forward to most about competing?”
(Note: This article appears in the January 2026 issue of ED Magazine.)
The Exotic Dancer Invitationals (EDIs) have quickly become the most closely watched competitions in the industry, not merely for the spectacle, but because they represent a future in motion. A significant reason for the attention we’re giving it in this issue’s Special Focus is the emergence of standout performers within the Starlet Division. Designed to spotlight emerging talent, the division celebrates dancers who are still shaping their identities as performers, refining stage presence, technique and brand in front of an audience spanning both coasts.
For many competitors, the EDIs are their first significant proving ground, offering visibility, credibility and the kind of camaraderie that can only come from live competition. It’s where raw ambition meets professional standards and tomorrow’s headliners learn how to command a room.
The Starlets bring fresh influences and a hunger that reignites audiences and inspires veterans alike. Feature entertainment thrives on progression and that momentum relies on a steady influx of performers willing to train, travel and evolve. By investing in newcomers through arenas like the Exotic Dancer Invitationals, the industry ensures longevity, reminding fans and fellow professionals that feature entertainment is never static, only rising.
Since 2014, one of the EDIs’ core missions has been to provide a dedicated showcase for burgeoning entertainers poised to usher in a new era of feature entertainment. For this month’s special focus editorial, we asked the Class of 2026 Starlet Division to describe their identity as a feature entertainer and share what they’re looking forward to most about competing in the EDIs. Not only do their responses not disappoint, but they offer a firsthand look at the rising talent and early journeys of the performers who are shaping the industry’s future and preparing to become tomorrow’s headlining showgirls.
This year’s EDI East is slated for April 29-May 1 at Jerry Westlund’s brand new Pony Club in Huntsville, Alabama, while the EDI West returns to Platinum 84 in Denver on June 3-5.
